Edwin Camps gives back to HALO Rescue

The Camps Family from Taber, Alberta hosted a fund raiser on May 29th with proceeds going to HALO Rescue.  This event was a tremendous success with upwards of $35,000 being raised to help keep HALO Rescue in the air.  Many of the HALO Board members were on hand to participate in the dinner and silent auction. Dale Thacker, the current HALO Chairman of the Board was quoted as saying " This event far exceeded our expectations, the community of Taber has really rolled out the red carpet for HALO and I couldn't be more pleased with the fantastic turn  out and community support."  There were many people involved in this event and the HALO Board of Directors wishes to thank everyone that helped out and supported this great fund raiser. The community of Taber and the Edwin Camps Family are truly appreciated for helping to keep HALO Rescue in flight for your life.

Please read Edwin Camps story below.

On September 22, 2014 our lives where forever changed by a farming accident. It was the start of main potato harvest and it had been very wet.  My husband Edwin Camps had been pulling trucks out of the field all morning.  As he was going to pull out the next truck in the field everything changed. He went to pull on the next truck and the bumper of the truck bent up and the pin shot out like a bullet coming through the back window of the tractor and striking him on the right side of his jaw and neck.  He was knocked out cold. My hired guy jumped on the tractor and shut it off and I called 911. Edwin was bleeding pretty good from the cut on his neck. We were able to control the bleeding as best as we could. About 15 min after the accident he started having trouble breathing. To this day I’m am grateful that HALO was able to pick up my husband in the field and meet STARS at the Lethbridge airport. Edwin ended up with a broken neck in 4 places and a shattered jaw. He is a walking miracle to this day! Edwin blew the doctors away with his recovery and spent 26 days in the hospital. He has a long road ahead of him but if it would not have been for HALO, my husband would not be here to see his son grow up.

Drowning Ford

Grazing Association

The HALO Board of Directors wishes to thank the Drowning Ford Grazing Association. HALO Rescue relies on the generous donations from individuals, municipalities, community groups, and companies.

Drowning Ford Grazing Association, has been a staunch supporter of HALO Rescue and continues to be one of our most valued donors.  Recently, Drowning Ford Grazing Association donated $100,000.00 to HALO. This amounts to more than 10% of our annual budget.  That is phenomenal and the Board of Directors wishes to extend their heart felt gratitude to the men and women that are a part of the Drowning Ford Grazing Association.

Drowning Ford Grazing Association is a huge part of the ongoing support that helps keep HALO In Flight For Your Life.
